System Requirements

Student Manager and ACEweb are application-based software programs that can be installed on your local network, or hosted on an external server maintained by ACEware.

Installing on Local Network - the following is a list of hardware requirements for installing the Student Manager package on your local network:

Student Manager Server

System requirements for the server on which Student Manager will be installed:

Note: Student Manager does not require a dedicated server. It can run in a virtual environment, and can be installed on the same server as ACEweb.

Payment Gateway Interface

We offer several payment service interface options. Please contact our office for more information about system requirements for the various options.

Email Module

To use the Email module, you must have the following:

1. SMTP Mail Server hosted on your institution's network which allows Relaying. At this time, the Email module will not function on a MAPI Server.
2. Persistent Connection to your SMTP Mail Server (i.e. LAN, WAN, ISDN, or DSL). The Email module will not operate with a dial-up connection such as AOL, MSN, etc.
3. Student Manager's Catalog Builder module because Email templates (used when you need to include information from the data tables into your email, e.g. registration confirmations, faculty rosters, etc.) are stored in the Catalog table.

Student Manager Export/Import Routines

IMPORTANT: Microsoft Office must be installed on the user's computer to output in Excel or Word formats. If using Remote Desktop to access Student Manager on the server, it must be installed on the server.
